Boosterthon Fun Run!

We have been gearing up all week for our Boosterthon Fun Run!
We started in K2, putting on eye-black (like real, tough athletes!)
Once we got out to the 'track,' the kids did a few stretches to get warmed up!
 After a few rules,
 cute photo ops,

and the National Anthem,
 we were ready to RUN!

Unfortunately, I did not get many pictures on the track because I ran most of the time.
But, we were able to get some good shots after all the running!
It took several attempts to get a good class picture.
Having 23 5-year olds stare into the sun, after running about two miles for a cute picture is harder than it sounds!

I love this picture of Zeb!  Can you tell he worked hard??
Since Galatas met their goal the night before, we were rewarded with Kona Shaved Ice!

I love this shot of our class!  We are hot, warn out and exhausted, but loved every minute of it!

THANK YOU to all of you who supported Boosterthon this year!
It was a FUN, FUN event!

Bat Day!

To celebrate Halloween without celebrating Halloween, Galatas holds a theme day each year.
This year, it was BAT DAY!

Mrs. Shannon has studied bats and other mammals all over!
She put together a wonderful bat presentation for us!
We learned all about bats!  We learned what they eat, where they live, how big they are and even compared them to birds and humans.

In the afternoon, we went outside for science experiments!
Alaina and Noni modeled bat wings vs. bird wings!

(These pictures may be all mixed up...)
The kids measured all different bat wings using unifix cubes!

They watched the way bats vs. birds fly using flip books!

And they compared bat wings vs. human hands and fingers!

I think the kids loved BAT DAY!
By the end of the day, we were all exhausted and I got to have some hug time with a few of our girls!

I am so blessed.

Pumpkin Patch!

I love all things fall! I especially love our Kindergarten trip to the pumpkin patch, the activities, colors and books this time of year brings!

We went to Christ Church United Methodist for their annual Pumpkin Patch!
We had six different rotations to work through.
The church does a fabulous job for us!!

Our first station was the Storyteller.  She read some our class' favorite Halloween books!

After the storyteller, we went over to the science station.  We learned about all the parts of a pumpkin and examined different types of pumpkins!

Next, we headed to the craft center and made 'Pumpkin Patch' picture frames!

I just LOVE 'my kids!'

We finally made our way to cookie decorating!

These cookies were delicious!!

At last, we had our turn to decorate the pumpkins!

A few of the finished products!

Our very last station was a chance to play on their playground!

We had a blast!  Even I took turns on the see-saw!

This was a great day and another fabulous experience with my K2 family!
