Puppy of The Week – Finnley!

Finnley was our Puppy of the Week last week!  He loved having his pictures posted outside our room all week.  I often saw him talking about his pictures with his friends and pointing out the members of his family.

Finnley is already such a big helper in our class!  He is our “Weather Man” every morning.  So, he loved the extra jobs of wagon helper and line leader.

Finnley told us all about his family in England.  He talked about how much he loves it there and even showed us what a double-decker bus looks like.

  He brought a few toys!  Here is one of the toys he brought that turned out to be very popular with many of the boys in class.

Awesome job, Finnley!  Thanks for being such a great helper in K2!

Double Centers!

Last Thursday, K2 filled the fuzzy jar AGAIN! 

The class voted between Double Centers and a movie afternoon.  Having the opportunity to get double centers won the vote, no question!  Not only did they get double centers, but I surprised them by letting them enjoy FREE CENTERS for the afternoon.  You would have thought I told them they just won the lottery!  They were so excited!

and housekeeping!

It was a fun afternoon!  This is such a great group of kids and I feel so lucky to have the chance to spend everyday with them!

Way to go K2!  You guys are AWESOME!

Puppy of the Week – James!

James was our puppy of the week a few weeks ago, but I have hardly had one second to upload the pictures.  I’m sorry, James!  You were a great puppy of the week for K2!

James is an experienced world traveler!  He showed us pictures and told us about many of the places he has visited!

James loved being puppy of the week and all the ‘jobs’ that come with it!  He told me he really liked being table captain for the yellow table and being our class line leader!

Puppy of The Week – Ashlyn!

Ashlyn was our puppy of the week last week and loved every minute of it!

She was a great line leader and wagon helper!

She loved showing the class her pictures!  She was excited to share the pictures of her as a baby and told the kids all about ‘her new babies’ coming in a few months.

 

Ashlyn did a great job!  She told me she wishes she was puppy of the week every week! 

Beautiful Days at Recess

Last Friday, it was absolutly beautiful! We enjoyed a little longer recess since it was finally bearable outside! These pictures are just gorgeous! As the weather gets nicer, we will have many more awesome outdoor shots! Enjoy!

Puppy of The Week – Baylor!

Two weeks ago, Baylor was our class Puppy of The Week!  Unfortunately, I left my camera at home on his presentation day so, I borrowed one.  I’m sorry to take so long, Baylor, I just recently got the pictures back, but here is your post!

 

Baylor was awesome this week!  He was so excited to show us all of his pictures!  We learned that both Baylor and his brother play baseball, that he has one cute little sister and his favorite part of kindergarten is specials.

Baylor was proud to tell his friends that he can read!

 

He even read his favorite book, “Are You My Mother” to the class!

Thank you, Baylor for reading to our class!  You did a great job!

Community Helpers

This week, we have been learning all about Community Helpers!  We have been talking about police men, firemen, teachers, doctors, nurses and mail men.

On Tuesday, we had a very special surprise guest!  Officer Mac keeps Galatas safe, as well as other schools in our area.  He was able to spend time with our class, Mrs. Garza’s class and Miss Bates’ class.

 

He read a great book called, “Officer Buckle and Gloria.”  We all loved it!

 

After the book, Officer Mac showed us some of the important tools he uses everyday.

  

He even let us hold his badge!

 

It was really heavy!  He told us that he wears about 13 pounds of equipment and gear everyday!

 

Thank you, Officer Mac for visiting our class!

Then, on Thursday, Miss Bates’ mom came to Galatas to tell us all about her job!  She is a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s hospital in The Woodlands.

 

She showed us all the tools she uses as a nurse each day.

She even let some of us use her stethoscope to hear her heart beat.  It was really nice of her to spend time with our classes for the afternoon!

Thank you, Mrs. Bates, for teaching us all about being a nurse!  We loved it!
