We have been talking a lot about what first grade will be like. I told the kids they will have spelling tests in first grade! There was a lot of energy in our room on Tuesday so, we took things outside to practice our sight words. I read each word out loud and they all spelled the words on the concrete with chalk– just like a first grade test will be with pencil and paper!
I can’t believe these kids are ready to be FIRST GRADERS!! This has been the best year!
I am so thankful we have so many fabulous parents willing to take time out of their day to come read to our class! The kids really look forward to parent readers every week! We have had some especially fun parent readers the past few weeks!
Mr. Sharer read to us from his laptop! He put all the pictures from the books on the computer and displayed it on our ‘big screen’ so everyone could see the pictures!
Last week, Pilot Wyrick joined us with his uniform, army helmet, cockpit poster and airplane wings! He even let every student try on his helmet!

I love when the class fills our Fuzzy Jar! It is always a fun day when we get to have our “Fuzzy Party!”
Last Friday, we celebrated another few weeks of wonderful behavior with Game Day! We all had an awesome time!
Thursday was Kindergarten’s field day! Those who came out to cheer on our teams will tell you it was a fun afternoon! I was so proud of the kids in K2 and how they showed great sportsmanship all day!

I know I was exhausted after a long day in the sun and I was just a spectator! I bet the kids were beat all afternoon!
If you have been reading this class blog for any time at all, you know how blessed I feel with such a great class this year! Not only do I have the best students in all of Kindergarten, the parents are wonderful as well!
This Friday, the moms of K2 surprised me with a Baby Shower! I am still in awe of everything they did for me and baby Addison!
Every student gave her a brand new board book!
In addition to the books, we got so many super cute clothes, burp cloths, blankets, toys, socks, pacis and all things baby!
Of course, the moms had everything figured out and brought ‘entertainment’ for the kids!
They all enjoyed cupcakes and decorated a teeny baby diaper!
I am so lucky to have everyone of these kids in my class this year! I will miss this group in just a few weeks, when they are all big first graders!
