Happy Valentine’s Day…K2 Style!

What a GREAT day!  We had more Valentine activities planned than we had time for, but it was a FUN and WONDERFUL day!

 

We did several projects with conversation hearts!

We created four different color patterns with our hearts….

We made predictions of how many hearts can fit inside our bigger heart…

and we graphed all the different colors that were in our box!

I was spoiled beyond belief by such wonderful students!

Last week, we brainstormed what LOVE is.  Here are some of the answers…

Today we talked about what Valentine’s Day would be like without our Valentine.  Once again, I got some very clever answers!

WITHOUT YOU, VALENTINE, IT WOULD BE LIKE….

Batman without Robin.

 

Rudolph without his red nose.

 

A queen without her King.

A turtle without its shell.

Hot chocolate without the marshmallows.

Our Valentine exchange was a bit hectic, but FUN, FUN, FUN!

Happy 100th Day of School!

Our 100th Day of School was jam-packed with fun activities and projects!

How many times can you write your name in 100 seconds???

K2 worked so hard on their 100 day projects!  I am so proud to display them in our hallway!

I cannot believe we have been in school for 100 days already!

Winter Work!

We have been BUSY, BUSY in K2, learning all about winter aimals by reading and reenacting Jan Brett’s book, The Mitten.

 

We celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day and even made our own versions of MLK.

We talked a lot about snowmen (when it was 75 degrees)…

What do YOU think snowmen do at night?

After reading the book, of the same name, we came up with our own ideas…

They were all very clever and creative, but here are some great ones!

I am so proud of all the hard work the boys and girls have been doing!

The BFG!

This past Tuesday, we were lucky enough to head out on a field trip with all of Galatas to The Woodlands High School!

  

Their theater department put on a wonderful production of The BFG (The Big, Friendly Giant).

Everyone LOVED the play!

We all wondered how they made the Giant so tall!

The other monsters were a bit scary, but also pretty funny!

K2 would like to say a Big THANK YOU to the Galatas PTO for sending us on such a great field trip!
