This has been an incredible week at Galatas! Science Camp week is always so much fun, very interesting and teaches us all!
On Monday, students from College Park High School came to Galatas for a presentation with their robot! They are a part of a group called Texas Torque. Their robot was programmed to move around, pick up basket balls and even shoot baskets!
Even I got to drive the robot!
On Tuesday, a group from McCullough came to show us the robots they used to win at their competitions!
They called themselves the “Sassy Scientists!”
On Wednesday, we went to the science lab for awesome experiments and demonstrations!
We also had Police Officers from the Houston Police Department visit. They brought in robots used to find bombs and suspicious packages and take care of them safely.
On Thursday, we made our own edible robots with marshmallows and pretzels.
On Friday, Tommy Betts, a professional movie stuntman came to show us how machines and special tools are used in movies!
I was asked to volunteer to be lifted in the air!
Aaaahhh! I was so nervous!
We had a great week and learned so much about robotics these few days!
