Searching for Corduroy's Button - August 26, 2009

We had such a fun morning! Today, we visited Mrs. Garza's class in K4 to listen to the story of Corduroy.
Everyone did so well listening to the story and sitting quietly on the carpet. (Even though there were about 40 kindergartners in one room!)
Corduroy is a little bear who has lost his button. We decided that we should search all over Galatas to find the missing button. This was a great chance for a tour of the whole school!
Mrs. Lindsay, the principal at Galatas, even invited us into her office. She showed us her brand new desk, pictures of her family and listened to many of our stories. It was a very exciting time because not many people get to spend time in Mrs. Lindsay's office!
We finally found the button at our last stop! Nurse Rambaud had Corduroy's button! We met Nurse Rambaud and saw her office also. We learned that we only come to visit Nurse Rambaud if we are very sick, bleeding a lot or if we just lost a tooth.
Everyone did fabulous on our tour of Galatas this morning! They all have a little bit of a better understanding of where things are and who is who in our school.

First Day Fun! - August 24, 2009

We had a GREAT FIRST DAY in K2!! The kids continue to impress me with everything they are learning! So far, we have learned where to sit, what to do with our work when we are finished with it, how to walk in the hall way, what to do in the cafeteria, the best ways to stay safe on the playground and so much more! I know it is going to be the best year ever!
They are all hard at work!
