Thanksgiving Feast! November 20, 2009

I love this time of year!  From Halloween to our Holiday break in December, Kindergarten is jam packed with so many fun events!

 SDC15069

Last Friday, we had one of the biggest events of the year – our Kindergarten feast!  The kids worked hard to make their placemats, help me decorate the room and set the tables.

SDC15076

We worked on our Thanksgiving play and costumes for over a week!

I was so proud of my class!  They memorized the whole Thanksgiving poem and performed it beautifully!

It was so nice to have so many families participate this day!  I know it meant a lot to the kids to have their parents there!

I cannot wait for the rest of the holiday season!  We will have so much fun!

Puppy of The Week – Maddie!

The week before Thanksgiving break, Maddie was our Puppy of The Week!  She had a lot of stories and pictures to share with her friends!

SDC15065

Maddie was very proud of her turkey she disguised!  I think hers is so cute!  She made a bride to hide her turkey from the farmer!

SDC15066

We love having Maddie in K2!  She was a great Puppy of The Week!

Puppy of The Week - Nathan

 SDC15047

A few weeks ago, Nathan was our Puppy of The Week.  I think he loved every minute of it!  Nathan is already my ‘Office Helper’ every morning so, I think he loved the extra jobs of wagon helper and line leader!

SDC15046

Nathan loved showing off his pictures!  He was most excited to tell us about his team playing a football team in Navasota.  He was is team captain of his football team!

Nathan, you did a great job!  Thanks for all your help!

Puppy of The Week – Lillie!

 SDC15038

Lillie was our Puppy of The Week this week!

She has been looking forward to this since the beginning of the year and she did a wonderful job!

 SDC15039

She told us all about her family through her pictures and brought some of her favorite toys for the sharing bag!

SDC15040

Lillie brought one of her favorite “Dick and Jane” books to read to the class.  She told us her mom used to read these books when she was a little girl, too!

SDC15041

Thank you, Lillie, for reading to us and for sharing your pictures and favorite things with us!  You did a fabulous job this week!

50’s Day!

Tuesday, November 3 was the 50th day of school

Can you believe its been 50 days already?!?!

 SDC15034

To celebrate this milestone, students were invited to dress in 50’s clothes!

SDC15035

Of course, the kids of K2 were the best looking 50’s boys and girls!

SDC15036

Mark definitely had the look down!

What a fun day!  I know the next 50 days will be even better!!

Creepy Crawlers Day!

Kindergarten’s Creepy Crawlers Day was a blast!

Our day began with “Mrs. Spider” coming to read to us!

 SDC14925

She didn’t fool K2 though, the kids knew right away it was Mrs. Lindsay!

SDC14929

After Mrs. Lindsay read to us, we went to a presentation by the “Ladybugs!”  These women work at The Houston Museum of Natural Science and they brought a bunch of creepy crawlers for us to look at!  They even let all the kids touch a few bugs!

Jordan and Nathan were excited to touch the hissing cockroach!  Yuck!

That afternoon, we began the real creepy crawler fun!  Every classroom had a fun activity planned for each class!

In Mrs. Humke’s room, we made creepy crawler creatures out of playdough!
