Field Day Fun!

Thursday was Kindergarten’s field day!  Those who came out to cheer on our teams will tell you it was a fun afternoon!  I was so proud of the kids in K2 and how they showed great sportsmanship all day!

I have uploaded a marathon of pictures!  Enjoy!

Surprise Shower!

If you have been reading this class blog for any time at all, you know how blessed I feel with such a great class this year!  Not only do I have the best students in all of Kindergarten, the parents are wonderful as well!

This Friday, the moms of K2 surprised me with a Baby Shower!  I am still in awe of everything they did for me and baby Addison!

Every student gave her a brand new board book!

In addition to the books, we got so many super cute clothes, burp cloths, blankets, toys, socks, pacis and all things baby!

SDC16148

Of course, the moms had everything figured out and brought ‘entertainment’ for the kids!

SDC16142

They all enjoyed cupcakes and decorated a teeny baby diaper!

SDC16154 SDC16155

I am so lucky to have everyone of these kids in my class this year!  I will miss this group in just a few weeks, when they are all big first graders!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, K2!!!

Tech-Lab Teacher for A Day!

Ashlyn was lucky the night of Springetti!  She won the raffle to be Galatas’ Tech Lab Teacher for A Day!

 SDC16112

Mrs. Curtis turned into a student and Miss Ashlyn became the teacher!

SDC16113

For the 10 minutes I was in the Tech Lab, I must have heard, “Miss Ashlyn…..” about a dozen times!

SDC16116

She did a GREAT job and helped all of her students just the way Mrs. Curtis would have!

SDC16114 SDC16115

Great job, Ashlyn!  You will make a wonderful teacher one day!!

Beautiful Day!

The other day, it was just so gorgeous outside!  I made a deal with the class that if they could keep working, we could move our work tables outside and enjoy the beautiful morning!

 SDC16100 SDC16101

They loved it!

SDC16102

We even did our reading groups outside…

SDC16103 SDC16105

Once they finished their work, they took a book anywhere on the playground to read.

SDC16104 SDC16106

We may have to do this more often!  It was a nice break, but we still worked hard!

How to Make Butter…

1.  After learning all about farms, go to the store to buy Heavy Whipping Cream, Salt and Jars.

 SDC16061

2.  Add the cream and salt to the jars and close the lids very tightly!

SDC16063

3.  Shake the jars as hard as you can!!  (Having dance party music on the radio helps!)

SDC16064 SDC16065

4.  Keep shaking until you can’t hear the liquid anymore.

SDC16066 SDC16068

5.  Admire your butter!

SDC16071

6.  Add the yummy butter to crackers and ENJOY!!
