Pumpkin Carving!

To end our week of learning about pumpkins, we all worked together carving one!
We talked about all the yucky stuff inside pumpkins,
guessed how many seeds our has,
wondered why it smelled so bad,
and decided on the perfect shapes for his eyes, nose and mouth!
Our pupmkin is now a Jack-o-lantern and he is a perfect decoration for our Creepy Crawler afternoon!

Puppy of The Week - Annie!

Annie was our puppy of the week this week! What a fun week we have had!

Annie did a great job showing us all her pictures, sharing all of her favorite things from home and being our leader for the week!
Annie really wanted her new friends in K2 to know that she is a triplet! She told us that means that her brother, Elliot in K6, her sister, Emma in K3, and Annie all have the same birthday!
We are so glad that we have Annie in our class!
Thank you for a wonderful week, Annie! You are AWESOME!

Reading Week

Reading week is a great week to talk to the kids about how important reading is!  Galatas likes to have have fun with everything we do so, we had several ‘dress up’ days this week!

SDC14822

Have you ‘read’ any good books lately?  On Monday, we wore red!

SDC14828

Cuddle up with a good book and read!  On Tuesday we wore our pajamas!  The kids loved this day!  They thought it was so cool that we actually wore our jammies to school!

Puppy of The Week - Jordan!

It was Jordan's time to shine this week! She loveed being our Puppy of The Week!
Jordan was our wagon helper at the very beginning of the year so, she knew what to do!
During her presentation, she showed us pictures of her with her whole family, her as a baby and some vacation pictures!
Thank you, Jordan, for all your help this week and all of your great pictures and items from the sharing bag!

Puppy of The Week – Finnley!

Finnley was our Puppy of the Week last week!  He loved having his pictures posted outside our room all week.  I often saw him talking about his pictures with his friends and pointing out the members of his family.

SDC14780

Finnley is already such a big helper in our class!  He is our “Weather Man” every morning.  So, he loved the extra jobs of wagon helper and line leader.

SDC14781

Finnley told us all about his family in England.  He talked about how much he loves it there and even showed us what a double-decker bus looks like.

SDC14782  He brought a few toys!  Here is one of the toys he brought that turned out to be very popular with many of the boys in class.

Awesome job, Finnley!  Thanks for being such a great helper in K2!

Double Centers!

Last Thursday, K2 filled the fuzzy jar AGAIN!

The class voted between Double Centers and a movie afternoon.  Having the opportunity to get double centers won the vote, no question!  Not only did they get double centers, but I surprised them by letting them enjoy FREE CENTERS for the afternoon.  You would have thought I told them they just won the lottery!  They were so excited!

SDC14767

They enjoyed blocks,

Puppy of the Week – James!

SDC14772 James was our puppy of the week a few weeks ago, but I have hardly had one second to upload the pictures.  I’m sorry, James!  You were a great puppy of the week for K2!

SDC14770 James is an experienced world traveler!  He showed us pictures and told us about many of the places he has visited!

James loved being puppy of the week and all the ‘jobs’ that come with it!  He told me he really liked being table captain for the yellow table and being our class line leader!

Thank you, James, for a great week!

SDC14761

She loved showing the class her pictures!  She was excited to share the pictures of her as a baby and told the kids all about ‘her new babies’ coming in a few months.

Beautiful Days at Recess

Last Friday, it was absolutly beautiful! We enjoyed a little longer recess since it was finally bearable outside! These pictures are just gorgeous! As the weather gets nicer, we will have many more awesome outdoor shots! Enjoy!
