Off to the Rodeo!

This is another one of my favorite events of the year!

We spend about two weeks learning all about Texas!  We learn the symbols of our wonderful state: Pecan Tree, Texas Flag, bluebonnet, Mocking Bird and even talk about the yellow rose!

Then, we move into cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo!

The Kindergarteners spend a lot of time and energy practicing our rodeo songs, dances and games!

Team work is our strength in K2!  We mastered the Chuck Wagon races!

I love that everyone in our class gets along so well!

 

They are all such great friends!

I know the kids loved every minute of our Rodeo!

What a Gorgeous Day!

 

We are welcoming this spring weather with open arms!

I think it is so important for kids to get out and play-play-play!

 

On these beautiful days, we like to sneak out for a short ten-minute burst to run!

 

K2 and K5 are both great classes!  They all get along so well!

You can always count on a soccer game going on when we are outside together!

I’m looking forward to many more beautiful days outside with my class!

Mobil Dairy Unit and the “Moo Cow!”

Galatas Kindergarten was invited by the preschool next door to join them for their Mobil Dairy Unit presentation!

 

A real farmer brought his “Moo Cow” (as my class called it)!

He shared lots of information with us!  He showed us what the cow eats,

how long his tongue is (eeeww….)

and even how they milk the cow everyday!

It was a great morning!  We all like a little mix up in the routine every once in awhile!

Happy Valentine’s Day…K2 Style!

What a GREAT day!  We had more Valentine activities planned than we had time for, but it was a FUN and WONDERFUL day!

 

We did several projects with conversation hearts!

We created four different color patterns with our hearts….

We made predictions of how many hearts can fit inside our bigger heart…

and we graphed all the different colors that were in our box!

I was spoiled beyond belief by such wonderful students!

Today we talked about what Valentine’s Day would be like without our Valentine.  Once again, I got some very clever answers!

Batman without Robin.

 

Rudolph without his red nose.

 

A queen without her King.

A turtle without its shell.

Hot chocolate without the marshmallows.

Our Valentine exchange was a bit hectic, but FUN, FUN, FUN!
